We had a wonderful and busy Christmas and NewYear. Lee and I sang at the midnight mass at Sacred Heart Church in Newburgh and I sang the solo for Yan's "Gesu Bambino". We are now back to work vocally. Rehersals for the upcoming performance of Beethoven's 9th with the Newburgh Symphony began last Tuesday (Jan 9th ) and will resume on Jan 23rd. The first time I sang this work was with the Hudson Valley Philharmonic under Randy Fleischer. The Saturday performance was especaily memerable to me in that I was singing with the NY Archdisossan choir in NYC for the mass with Pope John Paul II in central park that morning and then doing the 9th that evening in Poughkeepsie, and then in Kingston the next afternoon. It was a long weekend and well worth it.
