   On February 19 2007, Everett Smith owner of Smith publishing in New Windsor NY, announced that, effect immeadiately,Lifestyles magazine would no longer be published. The free monthly arts and leisure magazine created and edited by Leslie Steup, had a circulation of well over 10,000 readers, and was available in over 100 locations in the Hudson valley. Mr Smith stated that he had started this publication to pay for a new press, and calimed that he closed it  because he didn't feel that the community could support such a publication. Failure to generate advertizing revenue for the publication can better be attributed to mismanagement and an ineffective sales staff.

I strongly request that my readers and colleauges boycott "The Sentinal " newspaper and all other publications of Smith Publishing

My coulmn The Outhouse Musicologist will be reprinted at my web site, and if traffic will bear, I will try to publish new editions on a monthly basis.
